United Way Suncoast has honored Greenway Health with its Outstanding New Partner Award in recognition of our volunteer work and community engagement. The award shines a spotlight on the new partner that worked most effectively in the community with the nonprofit.
Greenway received kudos for our annual giving campaign, as well as our participation in volunteer programs such as Hour of Code.
“It is obvious Greenway as a company sees philanthropy as a priority,” said Susan Ivins, Senior Corporate Relationship Manager with United Way Suncoast. “Tampa Bay is a more vital community because of your efforts.”
Designed to demystify coding, the Hour of Code program introduces students to computer science and, sparks their interest in the field. Greenway volunteers worked with children at Seminole Elementary School using a program developed by Code.org, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools and increasing the participation of women and underrepresented youth.
“Hour of Code is a unique opportunity for Greenway to not only connect with the youth in our community but to also positively influence the future of the software industry,” said Taryn Hewett, Director, Total Rewards with Greenway. “It’s wonderful to see how excited the kids are when they participate.”
The United Way award affirms Greenway’s commitment to supporting our communities through Greenway Gives Back, part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program. Together, we CAN make a difference!
