Leading enterprise software investment firm Vista Equity Partners completed the acquisition of Greenway Medical Technologies on Nov. 4, 2013. Greenway Medical Technologies had been publicly traded since 2011, but Vista’s acquisition of the company took it private once again. The company changed names to Greenway Health, LLC, when it merged with Vista-owned Vitera Healthcare Solutions (formerly Sage North America’s healthcare division), as part of the acquisition agreement.
Since partnering with Vista, Greenway has reached several milestones, including further development of its service offerings. In 2015, Greenway announced a significant expansion of its population health solutions and, in 2017, expanded its headquarters to accommodate more employees.
In June 2018, Richard Atkin was named Greenway’s new CEO. He brought to the role extensive executive experience, as well as prior experience at other Vista portfolio companies.
Vista Founder, Chairman, and CEO Robert F. Smith said of Richard joining the company: “Vista is committed to improving how healthcare is administered, and Richard’s leadership will ensure Greenway continues to provide the clinical, financial, and administrative software solutions that physicians rely on to serve their patients.”
